We offer a multifaceted program at C.H.U.M. Beyond the arena of therapeutic riding and hippotherapy, we offer the opportunity to participate in horse shows at multiple levels. C.H.U.M. sponsors an integrated 4H club where non-horse owning members use program horses to participate in 4H at both the local and state level. C.H.U.M. also assists clients in participating in dressage shows, clinics, educational events, and research both here and in other facilities. C.H.U.M. clients have participated in various community events with and without their horses.
C.H.U.M. and Growing Together Equestrians 4H club participate in a weekend camping and trail riding event over the 4th of July.
Our anniversary open house is held every December. We take this time to thank our clients for allowing us the blessing of being part of their lives and to thank all of those who make C.H.U.M. possible. We honor the voted ‘C.H.U.M. Therapy Horse of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Staff member of the Year, and recognize our amazing riders and their stories. It is a time of sharing and reflection as well as a time to look at our dreams to come and plan for the future, with God’s blessing. This is a family ‘pot-luck’ affair where ‘secret recipes’ and favorite requested dishes are served.
At the open house we hold a silent auction fund-raiser where families, businesses, community supporters have donated items for the auction. We invite anyone who has an interest in our program and would like to "see and feel" our mission at work to join us for a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship. Watch the site for place and time. Contact us for more information or to donate for the silent auction.
